Project 3: Interpretation & Representation: Principles, Tectonics & Sensory - Sensory Space
The 3rd and final design studio project output is the combination & culmination of all the principles and elements used and discovered in the previous first and second project. The brief sees students designing a sensorial space that evokes a sensorial experience for the students ourselves during the period of the pandemic. With a selected dominant theme of emotion, the final sensory space should be a poetic architectural representation of the students' own reinterpretation of our tectonic structure in project 2. With the application of tectonics, materials, anthropometry, and ergonomics, the final outcome is a monochromatic interpretive scaled model and a complete set of orthographic drawing pasted on 6 A2 size presentation boards.
Design Intention:
A belonging structure - a space that mitigates longing & foster acceptance to feel belonged through the gradation of light & darkness

Reflection:
With the outcome of the final project, I was able to apply the knowledge learned from the previous projects and to combine them into one interpretive model. It allows me the opportunity to explore several architectural compositions whilst learning how to create space base on my understanding of ergonomics & anthropometry of humans' bodily movements. It also helps me to further enhance my manual drawing conventions along with improving my model-making skills to convey my ideas. This opportunity allows me to express myself in relation to space and experiential qualities to produce a good quality of space. The process wasn't easy but, looking back it was rather enjoyable to be able to learn the fundamentals of space making and demonstrate myself in my design.
